Your Money's Worth

| Started my season series vs Will Clark for Food yesterday. Won the first 2 games 7-3 and 5-3, with some timely hitting and some rare power from my lineup, by hitting 3 hr's in those games. Then came the doozy, in game #3, pitting Kazmir against Halliday, was 3-2 in my favor in the top of the 8th, till Shane tied it. In the bottom of the 8th, Reggie Willits chipped out a hit, stole a base and ended up on 3rd with one out, but couldn't get home. Fast forward NINE fucking innings later, Shane chips out a run in the top of the 17th, and I go down in order so Shaney wins 4-3. Key stats to the game, our freakin bullpens rocked, I only had one hit after the 8th inning, my bullpen went 9 innings, giving up 5 hits and had 8 k's, with the one run of Mosely in the 17th. Shane used every position player, I had 1 8 point PH left and one guy left in my pen. Orlando Hudson went 0 for 8, with 3 K's and was the only starter to not get on base at least once. |

Jeter to the Minors
Wednesday, May 28, 2008 |
In a move that will open the door for Jacoby Ellsbury; Derek Jeter, Jermaine Dye and Jason Phillips have been sent to the minors. Getting called up will be Ellsbury, Alfredo Amezaga and Adam Lind. Jeter has has a tough time staying healthy this year having missed a total of nine games already. Ellsbury will be in the lineup batting leadoff as much as possible. Nick Punto and Amezaga will share the shortstop duties for the time being. In an unrelated story, Alex Rodriguez was injured in the Steamers last game against WC4F. He was hurt for 3 games but will remain on the major league roster rehabbing on a bike. It will be nine games missed for Rodriguez also. |

Knock On Wood

| Berkman is still en fuego! He's currently batting 0.594 with 5 HRs and 15 RBIs in 32 ABs, and sporting a 1.858 OPS. These numbers have earned him a starting spot over a now-healthy B.J. Upton. And now that Upton is healthy and stuck in the minors, Granderson needs to step it up soon, or there may be further roster changes. |

New Record!
Saturday, May 10, 2008 |
| It was announced today that Joel "Super" Meyer has won the I'm a whiney bitch award for a new record 11th time. In 1985 Joel became the youngest winner in the history of the trophy at the age of 13. Some people have disputed his age but documents from the Dominican Republic to show proof have been unattainable. The self-proclaimed "Superstar" passed "3 year old child" who he shared the record with as a 10 time winner. |

More Records

| On Monday the Salt Lake City Fighting FM defeated the Psycho Swingers 21-4. In the game Miguel Cabrera had a two run home run in the 6th, a three run home run in the 7th and a grand slam in the 8th. He ended his day with a RBI single in the 9th for a total of 10 RBI's.A new strato record for RBI's. But this was not the only record to fall Monday night. Lucas (the majority owner of the Psycho swingers) set the record for using the phrase "he was giving up strato". Many of us thought this record (which was set by the Duffballs last week)was untouchable, but with 2 outs in the 9th Alberto Callaspo (a 7 point reserve with one spot to get a hit on his card) connected on a two run double on the picture's card witch led Lucas to give his final displeasure of strato for the night. This gave Lucas a grand total of 5 (I'm going to quit strato's) for the night. When asked about his new record. Lucas claimed that he was unaware of it and 1. He had been up all day.
2. He had to get up at 4 A.M.
3. He probably was not going to play any strato next week.
The following day the Duffballs had this to say about the broken record. " To see this record go down if another tough chapter to this season". "With that said I would like to inform the league that I have upgraded my previous statement of I'M REALLY THINKING ABOUT QUITING STRATO to I'M REALLY, REALLY THINKING ABOUT QUITING SRATO." |

Rough First Half
Sunday, May 04, 2008 |
Will Clark 4 Food is just about at the halfway point of the 2008 season, and thus far we've gotten mixed results:
Pluses - The squad is scoring runs, averaging 5 per game. Wright, Guillen and Molina have been hitting great this season, and Granderson is starting to come around. Since being called-up to replace the injured Upton, Lance Berkman has been red-hot, batting 0.563 with 3 home runs and an OPS of 1.986 in four games. It's going to be a tough decision after Upton is healthy, as he's been struggling this year. For pitchers, the lone bright spots have been Papelbon (5 saves, 0.353 WHIP) and Correia (1.76 ERA).
Minuses - A crappy 9-15 record, and having averaged 5.00 runs-per-game with an ERA of 5.08, that means I've been losing the close games, which is not a good sign. Pitching has been bad. I would say the starters have been average (and that's being generous), but the relievers have been downright terrible (other than those mentioned previously). Upton and Granderson both got off to horrid starts at the plate.
Overall, we've won 3 of our last 4 so who knows, we just might right this ship yet. |

God Bless Dan
Thursday, February 21, 2008 |
| So he logs onto this site for the FIRST time to talk smack to me? I love Dan. BTW, I'm sure the lefty +30 points first baseman you are gonna draft to fill the gaping hole in your lineup will appreciate those changes to your ballpark. My park will have 0-1 BP hit for righties and 0-1 BP HR for righties. Enjoy. |
